Luis Castillo, president and CEO
Luis Castillo has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare information technology. Prior to joining Ensocare, Castillo served as senior vice president at Siemens Healthcare, where he was in charge of IT sales, service and marketing. He was responsible for developing alternate markets, sales strategies and sales channels in order to grow the healthcare information technology business. Luis’ broad and deep experience has served to hone his leadership skills and business acumen, and he is a sought-after participant in strategic initiatives and global partnership efforts. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Haverford College in Haverford, Penn.
Mary Kay Thalken, RN, MBA, chief clinical officer
Thalken brings more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership and clinical subject matter expertise to our company. She has held executive leadership positions at hospitals in Nebraska and Iowa, including the positions of Chief Nursing Executive, Chief Operating Officer and System Quality Executive for Alegent Health. Thalken has presented on the topics of patient flow, improving quality and outcomes, and transitions of care at various industry conferences and webinars. Thalken holds an MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives and American Case Management Association.
Steve Chambers, chief financial officer
Steve Chambers graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1986 and is a certified public accountant. Steve is active in the community, serving as treasurer of the Teammates Metro Omaha Board and a treasurer of a local soccer club. Steve also is a member of the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Patrick Yee, chief technology officer
Patrick Yee joined the company with more than a decade of experience in software engineering. Patrick received his bachelor of science degree in computer science from the University of Chicago.
Wayne Sensor, healthcare advisor and member of the board
Wayne Sensor brings more than 25 years of hospital and health system experience as he works to advise Ensocare during this exciting time of exponential growth. He has been recognized by government, political and industry leaders for achievements in quality, transparency, consumer engagement and wellness.
Wayne is the former CEO of Alegent Health, a 10-hospital system serving Nebraska and Iowa, and Christus Schumpert Health System in Louisiana. Most recently, he was a partner at Leavitt Partners serving as the lead executive advising large health systems. Wayne also currently serves on the Board of Directors for HealthEast Care System, the largest health-care provider in St. Paul, Minnesota, with four hospitals and 13 neighborhood clinics. Wayne earned a master's degree in business administration from St. Ambrose College and a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Northern Iowa. He is a published author and sought-after keynote speaker.
Ted Tanase, founder
Now retired Ensocare founder, Ted Tanase, created our company in 1999. After experiencing the frustration, anger and guilt of finding the right care for his ill sister, he vowed to design a user-friendly website for other patients families searching for care.
Prior to founding the company, Ted was chairman of Superbuild.com the first-to-market e-commerce hardware company in the United States. Earlier, Ted was the CEO of Lanoga Corp., a $3 billion lumber and building material company (at the time of its sale), and chairman of Lanoga's parent, the Laird Norton Co. Ted received his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and a master of business administration from Wayne State University. He is now enjoying retirement with his wife, Priscilla.
