There’s a new face at Ensocare! Matt Smith has extensive experience in the Healthcare IT world, and he’s set to expand Ensocare’s footprint dramatically. Learn a little bit more about Matt in the Q&A below.
What are you most excited about working at Ensocare?
I am most excited about the culture. I firmly believe that goals and vision are important, but if they are not supported by culture, then, in the long run, they have little meaning. I read about the culture at CQuence Health Group and Ensocare as I prepared for my meetings in Omaha, but culture is much easier to write about than it is to live out.
I left Omaha amazed. After meeting with eight executives from across the organization, I sent CEO Luis Castillo an email that started with "the culture was palpable." It was refreshing to interact with people in various leadership roles and walk away knowing that each person, regardless of role or title, understands how their responsibilities tie back to the goals of the organization, how they are crucial to the execution of the company vision and how they wholeheartedly "buy in" to the culture and its importance.
I was "sold" on Ensocare before I walked out of the building.
What will be your focus at Ensocare?
One of my favorite quotes about leadership is a simple one, “great leaders change the order of things.” My focus as the leader of the sales organization will be to accelerate company growth and change the order of things so more lives can be touched by the solutions, services and people of Ensocare.
Admittedly, this lofty goal can only be accomplished as a team. I look forward to the opportunity to work with each of my colleagues. My immediate actions will be centered on earning your trust, learning the nuances of your business and quickly identifying ways I can add value to the organization.

What are a few of your hobbies?
I am pretty simple. First, I am raising three kids—one almost independent, one completely dependent, and one that I wish I could freeze in time. I also enjoy pretending to play golf, skiing, cooking, spending time on the lake, coaching sports and sitting on the beach.
